[Edit] We have a winner! Thanks to everyone who commented below for a chance to win this yarn. I hope you all still join us in the KAL, with HiKoo Rylie or with another great yarn of your choice. Without further ado, the winner is shollich! Congrats! We'll be contacting you shortly. Thanks again to everyone who participated!
Hopefully you've heard about the knit.wear name change. If you haven't: knit.wear has become knit.purl. It's the same magazine, but with a make-over! The structurally interesting, high fashion projects are still there, it just has a new face and name. We really hope that you like it and continue to knit the great projects that are featured there. I know that we around the office have gotten excited about the projects and yarns in this issue, and we’ve even chosen one for a knit-along!
The Pintuck Cardigan designed by Bristol Ivy is a bottom-up cardigan that uses a simple pintuck pattern along the front edges and sleeve ends. The body is worked back and forth, the sleeves in-the-round, and then the pieces are seamed together. The yarn used in this project is HiKoo Rylie from Skacel – an alpaca, silk, and linen blend that is absolutely divine to the touch and a pleasure to knit with. We thought this project would make for a great knit-along for our readership! If you’d like to knit with us, check out the KAL schedule and how the whole thing works below.
Here’s the schedule:
9/30-10/14: Get your copy of the pattern in knit.purl Fall/Winter 2014 (you can pre-order the issue or get the digital copy here!), choose your yarn, swatch
10/15-11/30: Knit body
12/1-12/14: Knit fronts and back
12/15-12/31: Knit Sleeves
Here's how the knit-along works:
1. Get your pattern by downloading or ordering the Fall/Winter 2014 issue of knit.purl.
2. Choose and buy your yarn (or find it in your stash), and knit your swatch.
3. Introduce yourself in the forum, and let us know what yarn you are using.
4. Post a photo of your finished garment when you're done.
We’ve got yarn to give away to one lucky knitter! Five (5) skeins of HiKoo Rylie in the colorway Driftwood (about $140 value), the color featured in the issue could be yours to knit the Pintuck Cardigan.
If you are interested in winning the HiKoo Rylie skeins in the Driftwood colorway, simply leave a comment below! The deadline is this Friday, September 19th, at 5 pm ET. A winner will be chosen at random and announced shortly after that. Please visit this page to see our full general rules and eligibility.
I hope you are excited about this project and this issue – I know I am! I love the chunky knits and fun stitch patterns, not to mention all the scrumptious yarns. Good luck to those entering to win the HiKoo Rylie, and happy knitting to all!
