Rosamund’s Cardigan

Woman’s intermediate top-down raglan cardigan with short sleeves and a reversible cable pattern. The asymmetric fronts close with a combination of buttons and hook-and-eye closures. Pattern includes plus sizes.

Finished Size 34½ (37, 40½, 44, 48, 51½)" bust circumference, buttoned with front cable borders overlapping. Cardigan shown measures 34½", modeled with minimal ease.
Yarn Tahki Rio (50% alpaca, 35% merino, 15% silk; 87 yd [80 m]/50 g): #002 light taupe, 8 (9, 11, 13, 15, 16) skeins.
Needles Size 6 (4 mm): 29" circular (cir). Size 8 (5 mm): 29" cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions
• Markers (m);
• cable needle (cn);
• stitch holders;
• tapestry needle;
• two 1⅜" buttons;
• 6 (7, 7, 8, 8, 8) sets of size 3 hook-and-eye closures with straight eyes (each set consists of one hook and one straight eye);
• sewing needle and matching thread.
Gauge 19 sts and 26 rows = 4" in rev St st on larger needle

Pattern Note: The center front cable is one and one-half repeats of the Reversible Cable pattern.

  1. HELP!!!! Having problems with the raglan sleeve work.  I K1F&B before marker, then slip the marker and K1F&B again, but no matter what I try it looks like I’m making four sleeves not two!!!!

    Totally frustrated…any ideas about what I’m doing wrong?

    Knitted up beautifully, no seams to finish just my kind of pattern, I am getting tons of complements.

    Button holes not in right place, check top photo, the neck when closed with buttons does not follow same line as the rest of the front of jacket, I solved it by putting long loops on buttons so closure is all in line.
