Bergère de France puts over sixty-five years of yarn know-how at your service. Created by Robert Petit in 1946, the company is still family owned and is now run by his son, Jean-Louis and grandson Geoffroy.
For over half a century, Bergère de France has developed a perfect balance of time-honoured tradition and the latest technical innovations. Based in Bar-le-Duc, in the heart of the Lorraine region, it is the last industrial woollen mill in France to produce hand-knitting yarns. Covering an area of 14 acres and employing around 400 people, it is one of the largest and most advanced mills of its kind in Europe.
Week #3 – Winner Chosen on January
From the launch of the new Bergère de France collection, this stunning jacket has been on many knitters’ must-knit list!
This pattern features a multitude of cables and is knitted using Sport yarn – 51% wool – 49% acrylic. It combines stocking stitch, reverse stocking stitch, honeycomb stitch, box stitch and cables. It is knitted with 3.5 mm – 4 mm and 4.5 mm needles and requires a cable needle. The jacket features press studs along the opening for a completely invisible finish. We decided to use extra-flat “jewel” press studs to give the opening an attractive look.
First in your prize package is the exclusive and unique Bergère de France catalogue, full of inspirational designs and hundreds of yarn samples to touch. The associated Creations 15/16 pattern book is included as well, featuring 143 patterns for women, men, children, babies and your home.
Pick your color of Sport yarn (23 to choose from) – 24 balls are included in the prize package (enough for the largest size), and we also include the 2 different kind of press studs (5 in total) required for the front.
