Monday Guessing Game

May 19, 2008

Are you knitting this pretty sweater?

Each time we get a new issue of Interweave Knits in the office, my friend and I play a little guessing game called "Which sweater?" I try to guess which sweater in the magazine she would pick to knit for herself, and she tries to guess which sweater I would pick to knit for myself.

For the Summer 2008 Knits issue, I thought it might be fun to include all of you in our little guessing game.

Now, it's a little hard for me to guess which sweaters you will knit. After all, there are thousands and thousands and thousands of you out there, and I don't even know what you look like or what your favorite colors are.

So I've made up a little survey, asking you point-blank which project out of the Summer 2008 Knits you most want to knit, either for yourself or for a loved one. (Because if you are knitting something for someone you hate, then my friends, we have to have a little chat...)

The guessing part comes in the second part of the survey, as follows:

This is the box that arrived on my front door step a short while ago.

It contains yarn. (Well, of course it contains yarn. What did you expect, live reptiles? entomology textbooks? C'mon, this is me we're talking about. Ms. Yarn Collector. Boxes on doorsteps contain yarn, this is a fundamental truth of the universe.)

This yarn will enable me to make one of the projects in the Summer 2008 issue of Interweave Knits. Not just any project: A pretty, pretty knitted thing for myself.

Which one? Ah, there's the guessing game.

Just for laughs, go ahead and try to guess which project I am making. Will it be the classic Wallis Cardi, or the lacy Apres Surf Hoodie? How about the sleek Elinor, or the versatile Leaf Kimono Top? Hmmm. They are all pretty. But I am only making ONE.

Click here for the guessing game survey. Just a bit o' silly fun for your Monday.
