New Knit-Along: The Caftan Pullover!

Sep 17, 2010

The Caftan Pullover

And the winner is....

The Caftan Pullover by Norah Gaughan. Clink on the link at left  to get the pattern from the pattern store (or dig out your issue of Interweave Knits Spring 2006!).

Here's the schedule:

September 20-September 27: Get pattern, choose yarn, work on gauge swatch.

September 27-October 11: Knit back

October 12-November 2: Knit front

November 3 to December 1: Knit sleeves

December 2 to December 16: Finishing and blocking

December 16 and beyond: Post photos on the forum and wear your caftan to a many holiday events as you can!

I'm going to be using Sublime Merino Silk Aran in the color Fennel. I think the smoothness of this yarn will show the detail really well. There's no errata for this pattern, so we're all set to go! Oh, and here's the knit-along forum, too.

Have fun!

I'm on my way to Africa next week so I'll be putting my project on hold. I'll be gone until the 25th of Oct.  I've finished the back and will wait until I return to start the front.  The pattern is beautiful and I can't wait to pick it back up.  See you when I get home.. . .. . ..

I am a very new knitter so this KAL is beyond my skill level but i'll keep learning and looking forward to joining one soon!  Sounds fun...

Hi Kathleen, LOVE this pattern, my first KAL; I am using Sublime Extra Fine Moreno Wool DK (color # 63, Taffeta, very pretty Blue) did my gauge and will be using Size 8 & 6 needles.  Thanks for the schedule, hope we can all keep on it!

Even though I didn't vote for this style, I am still very excited to join in my first knit-along.  I knew that I wanted to knit this when I saw this four years ago, but it was put on the backburner.  I was hoping that from my very large stash, I might have the yarn for it, but alas, I will have to purchase the yarn, hopefully this weekend.

This is my first KAL also. I was really glad that this one won, as it was my choice also. I got my pattern!

Have the pattern and ordered yarn. This is my first KAL. Will we come back to this page for posting/reading follow ups?

Thanks, and looking forward to this!

Dear Madam, thanks for having this project with us. Now the pattern shop has the pattern, but do you know if there's a downloadable file? Since I live in the Netherlands, I think it's a waste of money when shipping costs are more expensive then the pattern. Kind regards from the Netherlands.
