My husband says sock knitting is my addiction.  He absolutely right.  Every time I think I'm going to take a break from socks and knit something else, I just can't do it.

So the remedy is to have several knitting projects going at the same time.

I would love to knit Colorful Folklore Socks by Stephanie van der Linden.  I have only done single color knitting with socks and I would like to spice it up a bit.

I'd love to cast on the Wyest Socks LB Collection Superwash Merino!

Wyest Socks -- just wrapping up my first REAL pair of socks, so I have to keep things a little bit simple--I'd love to whip up a pair of these!

I've never knitted socks before and would like to start out making Wyest Socks by Chrissy Gardiner. I love that pattern and hope it would be not too bad to start out with as a beginner!

I love the colorful folklore socks. They look so comfy. I wish I could knit socks better. I alway seen to mess up in the heel area with large gaps between the stitches. Anyone know how to handle this?

I love the colourful folklore socks, but they would be beyond my skill level, I think.  So my first cast on would be Lorna's Lace Shepards Socks

Time to try some Fair Isle socks for a change! I've done plain, handpainted yarns, and I've done cabled ones... all great fun, but time for more colour! ;-)

They all look wonderful to me.  I would probably start with  Lorna's Laces Shepherds socks.  I haven't branched out to knitting with two or more colors yet.  xo

Def has to be the Colorful Folklore Socks!!! My colorful (and only) son, a Folklore doctoral student, and his wife, a Folklore/Ethnomusicology doctoral student (at MUN in St. John's, Newfoundland) MUST have these socks! He also studied at Tartu U in Estonia, and "roadtripped" to Anu Raud's house one day, uninvited mind you, just to fulfill my request of meeting her - Anu spent most of the day with him, inviting him in her home for tea and a peek at her amazing work, drove him around in her aged Volvo stationwagon, showed him her collections at the museum, and made it an awesome day for him, and me (via pics)... I think it's the least I can do for him, don't you? As they are producing my first grandchild in early June, I'm thinking I may need to do a little reduction on the pattern!  Interweave really rocks!!

LisaD@24 wrote

For the pattern alone, I would have to say Muscadine Socks by Star Athena. Because I like to knit two (three if the yardage allows) different patterned socks out of the same yarn, I would have to say Escadaria Socks by Kristi Geraci (knit 2 ways). It all depends on what the pattern and the yarn 'will' me to do!

As much as I'd like to think I would be brave enough to try the awesome looking McGonagall Socks, I would probably cast on Muscadine Socks first!

muscadine socks for me - i need to practice my toe-ups, and this looks like just enough non-stockinette to keep me entertained.

McGonagall Socks by Anne Berk  would be my first cast on for socks.  I am branching out from solid color socks into socks with color patterns in them.  ie. Fair isle or stranded knitting patterns.
