Interweave Knits Fall 2011 Galleries

Sep 23, 2011

Four knitters have had a great time knitting cardigans from the fall issue of Interweave Knits: The Dahlia Cardigan and the Gemini Cardigan.

Both are absolutely stunning knit cardigans that are fun to knit and eminently wearable!

The Dahlia Cardigan The Gemini Cardigan
The Dahlia Cardigan is knitted in one piece, from the center of a beautiful back lace panel. Designer Heather Zoppetti borrowed doily construction techniques to pattern the intricate looking flower motif that adorns the back. Sleeves put in like afterthought heels grow out of a simple rectangle for an easy layering piece with serious drape.

The Gemini Cardigan tweaks the classic stockinette cardigan with asymmetrical collar points and simple garter-stitch welts. Katya Frankel works the cardigan in one piece for minimal finishing. The cardigan has a wide, off-center buttonband that's stylish and easy to knit.

Check out the gallery to see these beautiful knit cardigan patterns and the beautiful knitters who made them!
