Yep, it's time for a new knit-along! Are you ready to vote for your favorite? Here are the choices:


   

The Orbs Cowl by Robin Ulrich is hot off the presses in the new issue of Knitscene Accessories. I love the drape of this cowl, and bonus—it's reversible!

This is a quick knit with a lot of impact. And knitted accessories are so popular for wearing or gifting.

The cowl is knit from a light worsted-weight yarn on size 10½ needles, and it's 21½" circumference and 12" tall. The recommended yarn is Berroco Flicker (87% baby alpaca, 8% acrylic, 5% other fibers; 189 yd [175 m]/50 g)




This is the Pan-Am Jacket and it might just be my favorite. Ashley Rao's design is classic yet current; quintessentially modern-retro—the style that's so popular these days. And for good reason—it's so attractive and flattering! 

The chevron pattern adds interest and is fun to knit, and the collar and mitered borders give the Pan-Am its retro feeling. 

The jacket is knit from worsted-weight yarn on size 6 needles, and the sizing goes from 30½" to 50½" bust. The recommended yarn is Classic Elite Yarns Mountaintop Collection Crestone (100% wool; 100 yd [91 m]/1¾ oz [50 g]). Individual pattern download.




The Off-Rib Cardigan by Stefanie Japel is a beautiful topper for any wardrobe. The high collar and well-placed ribbing are fab and I really like the three-quarter-length sleeves.

Get yourself some statement buttons and you're off to the races!

The Off-Rib is knit from worsted-weight yarn on size 7 needles, and the sizing goes from 32½"  to 52" bust. The recommended yarn is Madelinetosh Tosh Merino (100% merino; 210 yd [192 m]/3½ oz [100 g]). Individual pattern download.




Megan Goodacre's Crossed Cardigan is a wonderful warm-weather knit. The vertical lines of the allover texture mixed with gentle curves of the fronts make a lovely contrast.

This cardi gets its name from the crossover front closure and a crossover vent in back, too.

The Crossed Cardigan is knit from worsted-weight yarn on size 7 needles, and the sizing goes from 35" to 54" bust. The recommended yarn is Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted Cotton (100% organic cotton; 150 yd [137 m]/3½  oz [100 g]). Individual pattern download.

Honestly, boring choices. Jackets all the same pretty much. The cowl...yawn. Why not something in color ?. A hat, a cowl, a blanket, a jacket or something that has something interesting to it ?. l need no jacket in those boring stlyes. A cowl in July ?. l would have preffered something in lace knitting in refreshing colors. Not all knitters are 60+. And meaning no insult to the age, lm close to that. But it just looks drab and boring.

ich möchte ehrlich sein! Diese Jackets sind ok. aber ich wäre für einen Ärmelschal oder auch Bolero genannt.

Könnte nicht auch ein Bolero gestrickt werden? Das wird jetzt richtig modern!

humm - 3 jackets all to similar in style (shorter sleeves, cropped length and buttoned at left side of neck only), or a cowl. Not much choice really! Especially as the cowl isn't on individual pattern download.

the Pan Am jacket is stunning and the styling of the Crossed Cardigan is lovely.  But I agree that 3 of the choices are very (too)similar.  But I have to vote for the Pan Am jacket.

I have made the Pan Am Jacket, I dont think it is a projekt for knit along, I would chose the Orbs Cowl or the Crossed Cardigan (after all this is supposed to be summer).

Any place to get help in modifing all the asymmetrical pattern out now?  They just don't wear well for me.  Want to make symmetrical.

Hi Kathleen,  

I would like to know if the Madeline Tosh 100% Merino is the same as this one at www.yarn.com/.../madelinetosh-tosh-merino-dk   I was looking at the yardage and difference - yours is listed here as 210 yd. 100% Merino & one in the link is listed as 225 yd. 100% Superwash Merino.  I just want to be sure I have the correct yarn.  Thanks if you can be of assistance.
