Merry Christmas, Knitters!

Dec 25, 2013

This is my favorite time of year, for many reasons. I love the festive lights everywhere, the holiday parties, the yummy Christmas cookies, the presents under the tree, and knitting gifts for people.

But most of all, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I'm so grateful to have a wonderful, loving family and so many special friends, including you!

I want to thank you for being part of my life. I love interacting with you online through the forums on Knitting Daily and the comments you make on my blogs and newsletters. Your insights are a huge part of why I love my job.

As my gift to you this Christmas, I'm giving you the links to all of our free patterns, both those on Knitting Daily and from Knitting Daily TV. I hope you enjoy browsing through them and downloading those that appeal to you. Here are a few of my favorites:

Snowflake Scarf
Seurat Pullover
Colorplay Knitted Scarf Sweet Hex Child's Hood
Herringbone-Rib Socks
Tesserae Top

I hope that you and yours have the merriest of Christmases. I'll be thinking of you as I wind down my Christmas evening with a little knitting!

Merry Christmas!

P.S. Did you get some good knitting stuff for Christmas? Tell us about it below!

My boyfriend gave me the Clover Takumi Interchangeable Knitting Needle Set and a gift certificate to my local yarn shop!  I was shocked and thoroughly delighted that he remembered me telling him how great the Needle Set would be.  My first project on them will be the Colonnade Jacket from the Interweave Knits Summer 2013 issue.  I had bought the yarn as a Christmas gift to myself!! :-)

My husband bought me the Namaste BIG organizer for circular needles! I'm delighted. I have interchangeable needles, but I also have a bunch of regular circs, and they never seem to find a home. Now they have one.

One of my best presents this year was a long green scarf, beautifully knitted by a friend whom I had taught to knit last year. She wanted to share her new skill with the one who taught her.

My daughter went on vacation to Chile this year.  She brought me 2 skeins of hand dyed (or painted?) alpaca.  Heavenly soft!  They're different colors so now I I'll spend lots of time going through my magazines (which I love to do) searching for the right project.  It was the gift of the wool, the gift of the pleasant time searching for a pattern and the gift of the resulting item once it's knit up.
