I'd waiver between asking them to order some specialty yarns (for the Icelandic Shawl, a red hat bag and hat set for my mum, and some beautiful yarn for a very guy afghan for my boyfriend) and running amok adding to my knitting book collection. All of Barbara Walker's Treasury books, Lucinda Guy's And So To Bed, because I know people who live in water bottle using countries and they need cozies, not to mention two little guys of my own who are night cap wearers, and then maybe a book that gives me some ethnic patterns/new history of the craft to learn.

Wow, I'm pretty late to the wishing party - having entered the contest the day it was posted. But I was ogling ALL the beautiful Lizard Ridge afghans and blankets on Ravelry and yes, that's what I'd spend some free money on: enough Noro Silk Garden to make my own LR. And then some Jade Sapphire cashmere for a lace sweater. And then some Hand Maiden Silken for scarves for my daughter and sisters. If there was anything left over, some wool and silk sock yarn. Yum. Am I drooling?

How exciting! A chance to support my favorite local yarn store while having a blast! My LYS has a spectacular handcrafted llama rocker that I will be purchasing with my $300 Yarn Spree!!!!!! My sons will be so excited :]

Beautiful yarns to knit the ruana in FOLK SHAWLS - that's the next long term (maybe decades long at my pace) project that I have lined up. My friend Marsha and I are going to knit them together in different state (Indiana and Missouri). I don't have yarns in mind, I'd just go and wallow in them all for a while. And I'd like to take more sock knitting lessons to move myself from a theoretical sock knitter to an actual sock knitter...

Wow! What would I buy? I would go through all my back issues of Interweave Knits & pick my favorite sweaters and then buy the materials to make them - mohair, cashmere, alpaca, hand died wool blends, ... I can almost feel those lovely fibers in my fingers now!

I am mainly a sock knitter, i part due to the price of knitting a sweater these days, so I would probably buy yarn to make at least two sweaters. A girl can dream, right?

I would use my prize to purchase knitting lessons, books and needles.... if you give a person yarn, they knit for a day. If you teach a person new skills and give them tools they knit BETTER for life.

My LYS is the sweetest little LYS in the world! Three hundred big ones would be a great way to say thank you the the owner for stocking the most up to date colors and lines. Her prices are great and her skills and advice are fantastic! Rowan is her new (limited) line and I would start with enough for a sweater; then move to the Alchemy shelves; try some bamboo and silk blends and work on my 30 pair of socks goals (so I don't have to wash socks for a month!

Thank you for the dream. It doesn't matter if I win at this point. I have just had the best time dreaming of the different yarns that I could buy if I won. I think I would buy enough Manos del Uruguay(sp?) for an afghan. The pattern and yarn are in my LYS just calling me every time I stop by.

I would buy yarn to make my 2 boys (4 & 8 yrs old) sweaters, then buy yarn to make me one & use some of theirs in it too so I could always remember this wonderful (usually) time or our lives.

oh, money to spend on yarn, what heaven...

well, it doesn't matter what i would plan to buy, because my lys is such a luscious place. every time i go in looking for something in particular, i am seduced by something else!

definitely more sock yarn, and something for a cardigan (maybe that central park hoodie, or perhaps a range of colors so that i can dive into fair isle?).

okay, now my papers are never going to get done because i am too busy flipping through back issues of ik! (of course i brought all of them with me to grad school! how else am i going to work out all of my dissertation stress?!?!?!?!)

spend half of it on upgrading my knitting needles to good quality ones. Half on Panda Cotton/ Wool.

Hmmmmm, so much yarn, so little time. I would head straight for the Colinette and then on to the Noro - anything handpainted and full of colors. And maybe a few more Addi Turbos. My "LYS" is 300 miles from my home because that is where I am known by name and can spend hours deciding on just the right yarn. It is 15 mins from my vacation home, mo maybe it is my true LYS.
