I like this issue a lot and will certainly pick it up. It's a bit more like the old Interweave Knits that I used to look forward to - there are models of different ages, and different body types- yay! There are sweaters, like the Nimbus Cardigan, that are unusual and experimental. (I remember making a cardi from an old IK that was half Aran cables and half Fair Isle.) And there's the old IK humor- "vest shown modeled on a Great Dane/Labrador Retriever mix" (but with how much positive or negative ease?), funny. Seems a bit more informal and less striving to be oh-so-fashionable and trendy.

I've got to say, as one of the charter members of Knitting Daily, I've seen the news letter evolve in a way that's somewhat bothersome.

I know Interweave is the sponsor of the piece and, as a business, its business is to sell product. The promotion of goods (sister magazines, books, CDs, etc.) used to be at the bottom of the page, which was fine. Often, now, three out of five days is given over to promotions instead of knitting techniques, pattern discussion, yarn talk, designer interviews and the like.

I'd like to see a return to the basics.

Promote your goods, please, this is an excellent way to let me know about the publications you have to offer, but I miss the good old days of learning something new and interesting about the craft.

Just down loaded your free baby patterns. I have knit about a half of dozen cats, Kids always ask for them when they see my granddaughter in church with hers. And regarding the Manchester jacket/sweater - I have that in a knitting book from "back in the day".
