when i skimmed this article, a memory came back of me and Grandma, she was teaching me to knit and purl, and I had these turquoise blue 10-1/2 needles and some yellow yarn. I was 9 or 10. I've made time for knitting when there was no time, let the rhythm of an easy project soothe me when I was frazzled, and sometimes overcoming a challenge (the four basic Bavarian stitches come to mind). What's next--Estonian lace? Socks for a baby due in March? eh! who knows.

all i know is i enjoy the process. Thank you Grandma

I began knitting a little over a year ago and it's been so much fun! What a wonderful world opened up to me in the world of yarns! When I stepped into my first yarn shop---oh my!!!! The choices were overwhelming----so many beautiful yarns to choose from and patterns of every kind just waiting to be knitted and me not knowing where to start first. But the shop had a wonderful employee who was very patient and informative and helped me through all my questions till I was able to make a choice. Thanks to you and the Knitting Daily Team and You Tube tutorials I've been knitting happily ever after! Lynn
