I make a meat pie but it is a French Canadian Meat Pie. I use pork and beef only.

There are no potatoes or vegetables in it, except the celery and onions used in the crock pot when I cook the meat until it's tender.

My aunt use to make it every Christmas day and everyone loves it.

This is a really lovely essay, a beautifully written memory. And what wonderful recipe. Thank you for both. I love the pattern too, especially it's raison d'etre.
