Marilyn Murphy, currently Interweave’s President, originally
designed this bag as a staff project for the Winter 2000/2001 issue of
Interweave Knits (“In the Bag,” pages 96-98). We’ve had so many
requests for the pattern that we decided to offer it here. Marilyn
writes: “I didn’t have a final design for this bag when I began. I had
a few ideas and just started knitting. As I worked my way up the bag, I
decided it needed a funkier element and more navy at the top— hence the
fringe. This bag is perfectly sized to hold my wallet, glasses, and
keys, and to grab when I run out of the house for short errands.”
