Paired with a dark solid, a bright variegated yarn and a woven-look slip-stitch pattern gussy up some truly simple knitting: There are only two pattern rows and no hand shaping. Snowball fights, here I come.

Finished Size: 7½" hand circumference and 8¼" long from cuff to tips of fingers. To fit a woman’s small to medium hand.

Yarn: Manos del Uruguay Wool Clàsica (100% wool; 135 yd [123 m]/100 g): mulled wine (MC) and #08 black (CC), 1 skein each. Yarn distributed by Fairmount Fibers.

Needles: Sizes 7 (4.5 mm) and 10½ (6.5 mm): double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Waste yarn; marker (m); tapestry needle.

Gauge: 17¼ sts and 30 rows = 4" in linen st on larger needles.

Nice pattern, didn't see a guide as to what the abbreviations meant.  I, being fairly new to this , need that guide so I know what it all means.  I am delighted to see this mitten pattern, but will be even happier to understand it!

In the pattern, it says to see glossary, I am sure not seeing one on the three pages I downloaded. Can you please guide me as to where to look for this?

Here is a site that not only explains the abbreviations but has little videos to show you how to do them.

I'm confused by the thumb portion.  When it says "With CC and beg at top of thumbhole

with RS facing, pick up and knit 10 sts

down front of mitten and 10 sts up back of

mitten—20 sts."

Am I supposed to put all 20 stitches on one needle? because I can't make them fit on one needle.

also it doesnt say what size needles to use for the thumb? i used the larger ones but now i think i should have used the smaller ones. oh well. the shaping of the top of the mitten didnt make any sense to me either. i just made something up for that part until i ended up with the right number of stitches at the end.

PDF does not seem to be working for me. Cute mittens though!

knitting pattern is not complete in instructions. I worked on making my own pattern from it through trial and error. Ripped out and redid until I got it right . A very agravating way to begin a new site for me.

PDF format is a pain. You can't make the print biger for easier reading, put it in one colu;mn instead of two. What is wrong with Word. you can still have pictures and even the Mac has Word now.
