It's back...Downton Abbey returns!

Amy Gunderson's Walking Out Eyelet Panel Blouse
Since the release of The Unofficial Downton Abbey Knits in October, we’ve been hearing terrific stories from readers about their experiences knitting the patterns and enjoying the articles. Here are a few examples:

Sunday-Best Felted Cloche Hats knitted and felted at MeadowFarm Yarn Studio's annual Tahoe retreat. Photo by Eileen Lee.
MeadowFarm Yarn Studio in Nevada City, California, has a yearly retreat in the Lake Tahoe area, and for this year’s gathering, many of the participants had fun working on the Sunday-Best Felted Cloche Hat and sent us photos from the retreat. But we also had a delightful chat with a
knitter in Florida who is making the Oval Brim Hat for the Fair for her lucky friend and the English Garden Kimono Hat for herself. We received a kind letter from a reader in Massachusetts who will knit the Walking Out Eyelet Panel Blouse as a perfect garment for the historical museum where she works. And a knitting group told us The Unofficial Downton Abbey Knits isn’t just a magazine with dynamite projects, but a knitting magazine that you would want to read over and over again.

Paradise Fibers in Spokane, Washington, created a fun display with designer Laurie Sundstrom’s garments from Downton downstairs: Chilly Morning Cosycoat and the Bolero Jacket. Photo by Katie Longinotti.

To each of the readers, knitters, history buffs, and Downton Abbey fans who have contacted us, thank you so much for letting us know that our Unofficial Downton Abbey Knits has found a home.

And because there’s been such appreciation for the first issue, we’re publishing a second edition in October 2014. We’d love to receive your article and project proposals and to hear about your ideas for the next issue. View our contributor’s guidelines  to learn more.

And if you don’t have your copy of The Unofficial Downton Abbey Knits yet, get one today; it’s the best thing to do while we anxiously await the airing of Season 4 in January!

Happy knitting,
