Get Twisted! Knit Twisted Stitches with Eunny on Knitting Daily TV

Mar 9, 2011

Today on Tuned In To Knitting Daily TV's blog, we're twisted!

Get back to basics with Eunny Jang, host of Knitting Daily TV, on episode 607 when we explore twisted stitches. Eunny's getting started tutorial will explain how twisted stitches are essential small cables that add texture and stitch definition to your knitting. Because twisted stitches are essentially small cables, you can obtain this technique using a cable needle. However, since you're literally just moving one stitch at a time when you're knitting twisted stitches, Eunny demonstrates how this can be done without a cable needle.

Watch Eunny's Twisted Stitch tutorial, from episode 607:

She makes it look easy, doesn't she? As you can see from Eunny's demonstration, there are at least two methods to knitting twisted stitches: either knit your stitches out of order or rearrange them prior to knitting them, whatever method is easier for you. Just remember, you always want to knit in the back of your stitch, which is what is causing the stitches to twist.

Most twisted stitch knitting is done in the round, but Eunny also shows you a quick tip for mastering knitting this technique flat by bringing your yarn around as a float to always work the right side of your knitting.

If you're intrigued and want to dive into twisted stitch knitting even more, the 4-DVD set of Knitting Daily TV Series 600 includes a never-aired bonus tutorial from Eunny that further explores twisted stitch patterns and techniques. This bonus footage is only available when you purchase the DVD, available at your local yarn shop or online at shop.knittingdaily.com

Can't wait?
