Always Classic! Tune in to Knitting Daily TV's new season now airing on Public Television

Aug 13, 2012

We are thrilled to announce the latest season of Knitting Daily TV is now airing on Public Television stations nationwide. With the first episode of series 900, editor of Interweave Knits magazine and host Eunny Jang welcomes back experts Kristin Omdahl and Shay Pendray for another fiber-filled look at classic designs.

Watch a preview of this season as well as the first episode entitled Always Classic:

Take a closer look at this episode:

Getting Started:
Eunny demonstrates two methods for fixing mis-crossed cables on this episode's Getting Started segment. Even when you're paying close attention, all knitters have been faced with this problem or something similar when cabling. The good news is, this common knitting mistake can easily be fixed without having to rip back your entire knitted project and Eunny shows you how.

Eunny is wearing the Manteo Cardigan by Lisa Hoffman, from Interweave Knits Spring 2012 magazine.
Shown here on the mannequin is the Livingstone Cardigan by Amy Miller, from the Winter 2011 issue of Interweave Knits magazine.

Accessorize Me!
Introducing the Accessorize Me! segment, this portion of the show is designed to bring viewers easy and interesting knit and crochet accessory patterns that showcase unique techniques that Eunny and visiting guests demonstrate. All the Accessorize Me! patterns will be available for download at KnittingDailyTV.com by September 2012.

On this episode's Accessorize Me! segment, Eunny joins Shay Pendray to demonstrate the Cabled Globe Ornament full of cable techniques. This cute ornament is a great gift around the holidays as well as a fun, small project that can perfect your cable knitting. Download the Cabled Globe Ornament and knit along with Eunny.

Yarn Spotlight:
Eunny joins yarn expert Clara Parkes on another new segment to Knitting Daily TV called the Yarn Spotlight. Eunny and Clara will dive into yarn characteristics and yarn's best uses, as well as show examples of yarns available on the market today.

On episode 901's first-ever Yarn Spotlight, Eunny and Clara talk classic, 100% wool yarns. Focusing on The Yarn Company's Soulwool 100% merino yarn (multi-colored) and Halcyon Yarn's Botanica wool (orange), Clara and Eunny talk about wool's characteristics and when you'll want to use this classic wool when knitting. Also shown is Casecade Yarn's 220 (dark orange yarn).

Taking it one step further. . .
If you're interested in the Soulwool yarn seen on this episode, check out the Little One Raglan pattern on the KnittingDailyTV.com site. You can download this cute pattern for free, and it's a great way to show off the yarn's handpainted qualities.

Thank you to our sponsors! This first-ever yarn spotlight has been sponsored by The Yarn Company and Halcyon Yarn.

Quick Tip:
Eunny finishes up the first episode of Series 900 with a quick tip for reading cable charts. They can look daunting, but by following the key and breaking down each row of a cable chart, a cable project can be accomplished without worry.

I have already caught the first 2 episodes of the new season and am so happy to see Clara Parkes along with the rest of the gang. I have been a fan of hers for years and read her review faithfully. It is nice to see her and hear her voice too!

Thanks for this great program!

To Knitting Daily TV,

You need to know that your link to find the PBS station nearest you is not working.  Not yesterday nor so far today at all.
