I'm going to make this Polyphylla Cowl. LI've discovered that I llike to wear cowls more than scarves and I've wanted one that was wider at the bottom to go over my shoulders. Can't wait to start.

I currently working of a pullover pattern from Doris Chan. Lace is beautiful and challenging to do. I crocheted a poncho for my little girl about 5 years ago and it is now being worn as a skirt. Its so versatile.

I've only knit one lace project - a wedding garter for an in-law nephew's fiance. It was a challenge. After recovering for a few years, I fell in love with a lace scarf at Stitches West last month from Wagtail Yarns out of Australia: Butterfly Scarf by Branka Medlock in 2 ply kid mohair. I want to make it for my mom, but I'm shaking in my boots.

Well with this number of comments it is unlikely that I will win but it is worth a try! I l.o.v.e. knitting lace. It is the challenge I think and the results are fantastic!! I have given many lace wraps/stoles/shawls as gifts, but keep many for myself. I dress up an outfit, erase a chill, or just feel glamorous!!

Enjoy your knitting, that is what I say!

Thank you so much for the encouragement. It's true that knitting lace has its frustrations and rewards. I just tore up a lace triangle shawl that was nearly completed and started an entirely different piece, the wedding stole from "Knit One, Bead Too", because the triangle shawl just wasn't up to my standards. Turned out I made the most basic mistake of all -- using the wrong yarn. Instructions called for lace-weight yarn, and that's what I was using, but the yarn was too fine. I ended with a sloppy mess full of gaping holes. I should have put a lot more effort into testing and figuring how the swatch would translate in a completed project. Oh, well. The wedding stole is working beautifully in the same yarn, so I feel I made the right decision.

I just finished Celaeno by Rosemary Hill which was a fun & pretty quick knit. I may try Miriam's Vinca shawl next, it's got a very different and interesting construction.

Lace is when your work has INTENTIONAL holes in it, right? (I did some unintentional lacework in my early knitting years by not moving the yarn forward or backward when I should have.)

I'm making a baby blanket now with lace diamonds in it, and would love a chance to make something utterly decadent. Thanks for offering such a great gift!

I've knitted just one lace project, a Shetland Triangle for my MIL. I'm hooked. I have about a half dozen lace shawls that I want to knit for myself. But, I need to knit a lace shawl for my sisters wedding first. It's funny, I'm not really a lace kinds of gal. If you had told me that I would be in love with knitting lace a couple of years ago, I would have told that you were crazy.

I just finished knitting a pair of lace mitts for my godchild. I wanted something fancier than the lace shown in the original pattern, so I used the King Charles Brocade lace pattern, which I found in the Harmony Guide: Lace and Eyelets.
