Correction to Row 19. Revised Chart (iPad version only)

Simply Sockupied 2012

Simply Elegant Cable Socks:
•In section Heel Flap, the sentence before "Size 61/4" (16 cm) only" should be omitted.
•In section Shape Gussets, the references to sl st should omit "sl":

Rnds now beg at center of heel flap. With RS facing and Needle 1, k2tog, k5 (5, 6), pick up and knit 1 st in each sl every second st along edge of heel flap; work in patt across 34 (40, 44) held instep sts (Needles 2 and 3); with Needle 4, pick up and knit 1 st in each sl every second st along other edge of heel flap, k6 (6, 7) heel sts. There should be the same number of sts on Needles 1 and 4.

Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-off: Although the step-by-step directions and the illustrations are correct, the first two paragraphs describing the technique contain an error. They should read as follows:

This technique was originally published in Knitty and was developed by Jeny Staiman. It is a standard BO with a yarnover added before each st. When working yo before a knit st, work the yo backward (bring yarn to the front over the needle). When working yo before a purl st, work the yo as usual. Keep work loose.

Muscadine Socks
Cuff clarification: All slipped stitches are worked purlwise with the yarn held to the wrong side of the work. On Row 2 of the cuff, which is a WS row, slip the stitches while holding the yarn to the side of the work that faces you.

In Chrissy Gardiner's heel calculator for toe-up flap heels, the instructions omit a step. Under Turn Heel, Row 1 should say, "Work across instep stitches in pattern" before knitting the specified number of heel stitches.

Tech: Bind-offs for Toe-up Socks, the Kitchener Bind-off
The written instructions and illustrations for performing this bind-off are correct. However, we regret that there is an error in the video. At 3:08, the directions spoken aloud say to slip the second stitch of the round purlwise, but the video incorrectly shows the stitch being slipped knitwise. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may cause.

Glossary correction: The directions for sl 2, k1, p2sso should read: Slip 2 stitches as if to k2tog, knit next stitch on left needle, then use tip of left needle to lift 2 slipped sts over knit stitch—2 sts dec’d.
