Does anyone know where I can get free patterns (knit or crochet) for pre-teen girls?

All the garment patterns I find are either for adults or tiny toddlers.

I have a pre-teen sister, and I'd like to nip the "big sister who gives scarves" reputation in the bud. Like now.

Your solutions are appreciated! Smile

Hi ask,

Have you tried LionBrand.com   GarnStudio.com,  Knitty.com,  Patons.com

http://www.patonsyarns.com/pattern.php

 http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring05/patterns.html

 http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/kategori_oversikt.php

http://www.lionbrand.com

here is one specific to teens   http://cache.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/patternList.fcgi?tXX=1&d=Teen%20/%20Young%20Adult&s=Knit

And all the women who were wise of heart spun with their hands, and they kept bringing as yarn the blue thread and the wool dyed reddish purple, the coccus scarlet material and the fine linen.   Ex. 35:25

Hi ZassZ,

Thanks very much for your help!

I've checked out these sites and found a few garments. Most sections on teen knitting seem to focus on accessories, but I did find some good garment patters.

I also discovered these two things:

  1. An older teen can wear an adult size x-small or small, so that makes things a bit easier if you can't find a "teen" pattern.
  2. A sizing chart for children's clothing - this is simply a shopping guide and does not give you all the finer measurements that a designer would use, but it is still somewhat helpful.

So thanks ZassZ, and hopefully this post is of help to anyone with a similar question.

PS. Great signature!
