How do I do the first center stitch on the row one of this cable? it's k1tbl, k1
Supposed to end up with three stitches...lost here...
Often it's (k1, k1tbl, k1) into one stitch. K1, knit one through the back loop, k1. That'll make 3 sts from one. Can you quote the entire row one for us?
purl purl, knit knit, 5purls, purl 2 tog, k1tbl k1, purl 2 tog., 5purls, 2 knit, 2 purl. It's the first line of a cable chart. Thank you so much. That makes perfect sense!!
I take as a knit 1 through back loop, then knit 1 as normal in the same stitch making it an increase of just 1 stitch. But with it decreasing two stitches and only increasing one stitch, I may be misreading it.
If there was a comma between the k1tbl and k1 then it would appear to be just knitting 1 through the back loop making it a twisted stitch.
Yes, I don't see how this can end up as 3 sts. It looks like the row takes 23sts if you read the chart as (ktbl, k1) into the same st. You end the row with 22sts (2 p2tog decreases and the increase from the ktbl, k1). What is the name of the pattern and can you post a pattern link?
It's the sweetheart pullover and it's in the fall interweave issue. A woman who knitted it gave me some helpful hints as to how it;s done. It was rather confusing to me when reading the pattern.
