Help please... taking up crocheting again after many years.  It never mattered when I was making a simple scarf or dish cloth, but to make clothing it will.  Right side versus wrong side is the dilema.

To make a baby sweater etc.  How do I know which side is the right side versus the wrong side????

For example: If I make a foundation chain, then start the pattern which is the right side???

I am confused.

Any help would be appreciated.

After the foundation chain, the side facing you of your first row is the right side.  When you get to the end of that row and turn for row 2, then you're on the wrong side.  Of course, if you are crocheting in rounds instead of rows, then you won't do any turning and the side facing you will be the right side.

Most patterns in which right/wrong sides matter will tell you which side is the right side.

Hope this helps. Smile

Isn't the wrong side the one with the "bumps"?  And the right side is the one with the "V"'s?  I could be wrong, not sure.  :-)
