Help -- am i reading this wrong -- junp down 9!!! rows and pick up stich and knit togetner iwth sitch on 9th row and do this 3!!! tines -- in the same stitch or repeat in the next 3 sts.? No Way -- i am doing something wrong.

Please advise -- thanks appreciate your help -- love the way Britt-Marie' looks in her book POP Knitting!

It's a little easier than you think (and there's an error in the pattern). You're basically making a tuck in the fabric over three sts. You don't want to jump down 9 rows, just go to the method used in Row 10 (not row 9):. "With color 2, *(pick up 1 st in color 2 from Row 2 and place it on left needle. Knit that stitch together with next st through back loop) 3 times, k7; rep from *. "  So you're only counting down 7rows, picking up the back of the stitch in the same column as the next stitch on the left needle. placing that loop on the left needle and knitting the 2 together. Repeat this with the next stitch and the next (so yes. using 3 sts, not all into one stitch) Once you get the hang of this it's fun to do and makes a great pattern stitch. Good luck with it!
