For a scarf i am knitting the linen stitch: kn1, yf, sl1 purlwise, yb, etc, next nld p1, yb, sl1 purlwise, yf, etc. I am making sure that I work the stitch that was slipped the previous row. From what I see in the pictures the back and the front should be similar. But mine isn't. What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi Soe, The front and the back of linen stitch are pretty but not the same. The yarn is always passed by the slipped stitch so that it shows on the front side.

Here's a video of the stitch and you can see that the two sides differ.

Hi Salmonmac,

Thank you for your reply. I looked at the video and my knitting looks the same. I wondered because I saw a Ravelry pattern that looked like it was similar on both sides. And I really liked that! Thanks again.
