Cast on 19 ST

Beg Rib Pat-

Row 1 (RS): K1, (k2,p1) 5 times, end K3.

Row 2: K1, (p2, k1) 5 times, end p2, k1.

Rep Rows 1 and 2 until band measures approx. 3 inches, ending with a WS row.

Inc Row (RS): K1, (k2, pf/b) 5 times, end k3---24 sts.

I just completed all of the above and then it says....

Work in established rib pat until band measures approx. 5 1/2 inches, ending with a WS row.

After I do the Inc Row do I then continue with Row 2?  And if so what will the stitches be?  I now have 24 stitches because I just made 5 additional stitches doing the pf/b

Thanks for your help,

Alice

I think they mean Rib 2*2

.

The first K1 in both R1 andR2 are for finishing, you will probably stitch them together with yarn needle to make this strip into a circle for a head band.

So, the basic pattern is K2 P1 in the rs and P2 K1 in the WS.

After you increased you will have

RS K1, (K2 P2)  5times

WS K1 (P2 K2)   5 times.

That is what I would do.

Yes.  The Inc row was a RS row (equivalent to Row 1), so you now work row 2.  Then just repeat rows 1&2 following the ribbing pattern until you reach 5.5 inches.
