From time to time I read some of the concerns that members have over having carpal tunnel or the fear of developing hand and arm pain, or just dealing with pain.  My heart goes out.  It can be very difficult to wait out a time period of healing.  As it is not always possible to know the outcome of a certain situation, our patiently waiting it out is the difficult thing!  If I could say, a word of 'encouragement' is what one needs at a time like this.  .  Time  I found myself thinking that if I could just knit one stitch a day, at year's end I would have worked 365 stitches and that is an encouraging thought.  Preventative stretching and rest can go a long way to help.  In the meantime, reading, looking at beautiful books and planning future projects can help take heart and give a boost.  Some of us need a word of encouragement (sugar) and a little support while we wait to recuperate.  Til once again, one can enjoy the satisfaction that comes from being creative.

I thought I would ask any of you here if you would like to "share" a few (ENCOURAGING WORDS OR IDEAS) grains of sugar?

I was just looking over the different magazines available thru this website.  I came across one called FABRICATE.  It's interesting project on the cover got my attn.  I really love the idea of creating your own fabric on this project.  This is why I knit and crochet, sew, etc.  It gives me the freedom to create my very own fabric, tailor made to fit my preference or style & taste.

I am wondering what ideas some of you have to share on what you enjoying doing with your "down time"?Idea

my technique is to finish a row and stretch. I also have to time myself, and limit myself to nno more than 2 hours a day. If I knit along to a movie then I stop when it does. The weird thing is that I find sometimes in a project that has a complex stitch pattern that I get a rhythm going, and I find I have to watch the same  movie over and over until the project is done. Weird, but it works for me.

Then at the end of my knitting day I apply a pain massage blend that I make with essential oils and massage again. So far that has kept me able to knit daily, with no major flares. I'm slow, but every stitch is a gift to me, so I don't worry about making progress as fast as most  people. Just look at it as a gift, and the world is right

My right wrist used to kill me. It was so bad, some days i couldn't knit. My husband suggested that i get one of those magnetic bracelets. I thought, yea right, if that worked, it would be all over the knitting magazines. Well, i got one. Low & behold if it don't work!!!!! I have taken it off & forgot to put it back on, well, the next day here comes the pain again. As long as I wear it, my wrist NEVER hurts.
