Before you ask a question, check out the How-To section! There's lots of info on things like ease, measuring, swatching, and step-by-step instructions for common stitches.
You can even find information there on the mysterious and elusive "no stitch"...
I love the new site.
Good work Interweave Team!
Are the tutorials (like shaping in lace) going to be added to the How-To section? It would be great to be able to access those without having to search through the blog archives.
That's a great idea, fishie. I hadn't thought of that.
Right now, you can use the Tag Clouds to find them: Click on "lace" and they should show up.
Do folks here know how to use the Tag Clouds? If not, I can do a little Tag Tutorial in a post!
Thanks, fishie (love your screen name!)

Deer-in-the-headlights-look...what are "tag clouds"?
Terry Morris: Deer-in-the-headlights-look...what are "tag clouds"?
LOL
OK. I guess I will put a little Tag Cloud tutorial in next week's post. But until then:
Go to the teal menu bar at the top of the page.
Click Blogs.
Scroll down a bit--look on the right sidebar, under the ads for the patterns in the store.
See the Tag Cloud? It says "Tags" and then there are a bunch of words, in different sizes. Each of those words or phrases is a Tag, and they are in a Cloud (squeeze your eyes up and pretend, 'K?). (This is only a few of the Tags. To see all the Tags, click View More which is in tiny print at the bottom). The bigger the Tag, the more stuff there is tagged with that tag.
You can click on any one of those words or phrases, and it acts as a quick search feature--it takes you to a page with a list of the blog posts which have that tag attached.
BUT wait...there's more :)
At the top of the tag results page is another smaller tag cloud. So let's say the first tag you clicked was Pattern Adjustment. That takes you to the list of all the blog posties which are tagged Pattern Adjustment. At the top in the smaller cloud, you'll see other tags. These are the OTHER tags assigned to the posts also tagged as Pattern Adjustment. Click on any of these "sub tags" and you will get the subset. Example: I now click Waist Shaping and I get all the Pattern Adjustment posts which are also tagged Waist Shaping. You can keep clicking sub tags to refine your search down to exactly what you want.
See? Clear as mud, right? Hopefully a bit clearer :)
There are Tag Clouds in each section: Free Patterns, Galleries, Forums, How-Tos. In fact, in the Forums, YOU can tag your OWN posts using the Edit Tags link at the bottom of your post. That way, we can all start indexing our forum posts, and eventually we will have a Fab Tag Cloud for the Forums so we can find all the forum posts on knitting backwards, or whatever.
I haven't finished tagging all my blog entries yet (getting there....), so not everything will show up right now. And I have just started adding designer names to the tagging, so that you can search for info and designs by your fave designers. (Designer name tags added to all the free patterns, but not anywhere else yet. I am only one woman. There are many things to tag!)
It's a work in progress, and as we all use the site, the tag clouds will get bigger and better and more fun to use.
Does that help?
:) KD Sandi
Got it! Thanks Sandi! That really helps
Does anyone know of a good way to knit with fabric-elastic so that the elastic will only show on the wrong side of the garment and without puckering on the right side of the garment? It seems to me that some time ago I came across some tips for this, but I can't seem to remember where.
