Hello from beautiful New England.  I am Crafty Matthew.  I'm on MSN, Yahoo, eBay, Ravelry, Blogger and now here too.  I've knitted and crocheted since about 1970.  I love to knit and crochet everything.

 Thanks for the welcome Sandi and it's going to be great to meet everyone here.

I'm an avid knitter who dabbles in crochet. I usually have about 20 projects on the go though I'm usually ony working on 3-5 of them on any given day. I'm up a bit just now because I started 4 new ones in the last week.  I've been a fan of interweave knits for many years and was thrilled recently to find a copy of the premier issue!

I live in Edmonton, Alberta and teach knitting at my LYS.

 You have such lovely yarns, two grandsons live in the Newbury area, lovely place. Had the joy of visiting once, still the beautiful country and the friendly people, the yarn shops were great, and the people so helpful to my having to bring yarn home with me.

 we will get use to the new site, but right now it is hard to find people that posted.

 I'll try this again. I am a quilter first and then a knitter.  I've learned a lot from Knitting Daily.  I belong to a group of quilters that have met for years and a couple of years ago we added knitting, and now meet twice a month.  We go to each others homes and keep a calendar.  Several are great knitters and help can be a beautiful thing.  I live north of Seattle and we are having a cool spring.  If you do not have a group, I suggest that you start one.

 Hello everyone, I'm a fairly new knitter but have taken classes at my local yard shop. I'm just outside of Philadelphia and retired this past year after 37 years as a Fed.  Yipee!  more time for knitting, gardening, house rennovations, etc.  Looking forward to tapping all of your expertise as I explore.

I make knit since when I had 9 years but just last year I started again Here just have cold 3 months! but anyway I love knitting because for me is a great terapy and I feel happy when I can to finish a project and I receive some praise

 Hi all....I've been a knitter since my mother taught me at the age of 5. That's some time ago now, LOL!!! I also crochet, sew, cross stitch, and would love to try quilting if I was certain my family wouldn't disown me. :) I'm a mom of 2, and I attempt to play the violin. Nice to be here.

 Hi There!  This past week I happened upon a knitting show on the PBS station which ended with this website. It's wonderful!  I've not been doing the knitting thing very long. In fact, I think I might be cheating a little...I have the ultimate sweater machine (which I've never been able to figure out) and lots of the knify knitters, which brings me to my question. Do you ever have any patterns for knifty knitters. Or is there a way to take a regular pattern and turn it into a knifty knitter pattern? I have several pattern books from the manufacturers, but you all have REALLY nice knitting projects here that would be great to incorporate into the things I have. Thank you very much for any help you can give and have a great weekend!

I need to thank you for Titania's capelet!. I whined at the top of my lungs to have it put in the patterns for sale gallery. I saw it. I desperately wanted it. And it was no longer available!!!! I was absolutely thrilled to see it offered.

Now if I can just find time to make it!

Sorry it has taken so long to thank you for your welcome but I am not a frequent user of the site and didn't realize I had a reply! I spend a lot of time lost too! Idon't get this thing a lot of people have about socks - although I suppose they are fairly quick to knit once you get the heel bit. I only ever made one pair as a project at school sometime in the dark ages! Have just embarked on knitting a cardi from a Rowan book but have substituted a much cheaper merino yarn from Stylecraft. Knitting has become very expensive since the seventies when I did a lot of knitting for the kids.

I'm off now to get even more lost on the site

I'm new to the World of Knitting too.  First and foremost, I'm a fashion designer (sewing only), which I've been doing for about 9 years.  I decided I wanted to add some knit pieces and bought myself some needles.  Hand knitting, in my opinion, is too time-consuming, so I purchased an Ultimate Sweater Machine too, which has allowed me to whip up some quick pieces to incorporate into my designing.  I've also added crocheting (self-taught using several books and the internet) and have just completed my 1st piece (Mango Mesh Tank - free pattern I found on the web) and I'm loving it.  Now I have to reorganize my sewing room, move all the fabric over to make for all the beautiful yarns I've purchased.

I've tried to find the schedule for that PBS show, it's not in the Chicago area as of yet, unless I'm not looking in the right place.

I'm kind of new to knitting, been at it about 6 months.  I have croched (?) for years but always thought knitting made a prettier stitch.  So I sat down with a book and taught myself.  My grandmother taught me, but she didn't know how to knit.  I live on a farm about 65 miles South of Dallas/Ft. Worth, with no close neighbors.  I look forward to having someone to talk to about knitting.  (My husband doesn't care at all about knitting, can you imagine?)  I'll try not to make a pest of myself.

I am new to this site although I have been weaving for 20 years on and off. I also knit, crochet, tat, quilt, etc. As I am recently retired from my day job, there is more time to do the things I really love. My children have cooperated by giving me my first 3 grandbabies in the past 18 mos. SO-now I have little people to create for.  Currently I have baby blanket in Monk's Belt Bamboo yarn on the loom, one quilt on the frame and another cut and ready to piece, as well as a crocheted blanket in really soft yarn for baby #3 due in Nov. My daughter in Maine has Cashmere goats and she provides me with yarn from the goats to knit or crochet into scarves and hats which they then sell at Farmer's market and their Farm Store. I am located in Western North Carolina. Would love to hear what other folks are doing.
