Hi Everyone!
I'm trying to decide between knitting Rouge Hooded Pullover or Central Park Hoodie! I just can't make up my mind. I suppose I'd better choose the easiest one, since this will only be my second (first adult size) sweater. Rouge looks like it would be easier to me. I love the look of Central Park, but all those cables look pretty daunting! Or heck, are these too complicated to be second sweaters? If you know of one that would be a better choice I'm all ears! Any opinions GLADLY welcomed!!
Thanks very much!!
Kelly
Most rows (or rounds) in cable patterns are just simple knits and purls. It's only the round where you make the twist that is fiddly so you should be fine with either pattern. Just go for it! Pick on - or do BOTH! (I'm a multi-project enabler).

Hi Kelly!
I just finished making Rogue for my husband...and some of the cables and techniques used in Rogue are more advanced than those used in the Central Park Hoodie. So even though there are more cables in CPH, the ones that are there are easier cables to do than the ones in Rogue, which are fewer. IMHO. So if you are looking for the easiest one, then the CPH is easier, by my vote. In fact, I was thinking I needed a break from complicated cables and was thinking of doing a CPH as a relaxing break! :)
I think the CPH would be a great second sweater! It's adorable. But, just to be fair, I also loved LOVED Rogue, and I know of at least one or two adventurous knitters who did Rogue as a first cabled sweater and did just fine. Most of Rogue is just as easy as CPH, there's just a few bits in Rogue where you have to really read the directions carefully, shut the door, and concentrate.
Which one do YOU like best? I'd say that's the most important thing. Pick the one you think is cutest and go for it. Be fearless and all that. :)
Thanks Terry and Sandi! I guess I like Rouge better because I do prefer a pullover. My daughter really wants a CPH, so (no thanks to Terry the enabler!! ) I'll probably end up making them both eventually anyway! Mine first though!
Hmmmm...now to choose a yarn... LMAO!!
Why stop at one?
I found out a long time ago, if you go to a LYS, they will sell you more needles... :D :D And then you can just go crazy, and have a project-in-progress in every corner! :D
The advantage of this is that you might have one that is humming along while another needs more concentration, a quieter house, to work out the next bit... It's good to have something soothingly easy when you need a break from something tricky...
