Has anyone knit this? The pattern instructions don't indicate which size needle to use when picking up and knitting the bottom edging. The smaller size or larger? Help!
Yes, I knit this and used a worsted weight that was a bit heavier than average, so I had to adjust the pattern a bit, because no needle size matched the gage given. I would suggest that you use a needle a size larger than what you knit the body with, because I used the same size, picked up as many stitches as I found rows, and wound up with a bottom band that cups in a little. Or use the same needle size that you knit the cuffs and front band of garter stitch with, and measure carefully to determine how many stitches you need to pick up. That way you can make your bottom band exactly the same measurement as the bottom edge which will give this a clean straight finish, which is the point of the garter stitches at the bottom. If I were to re-do this, I would use a backstitch bind off at the bottom edge, since that will also keep you from getting a tight bind-off that will make it cup in.
