ok to wash glue

I have used ok to wash glue to tack down threads on cross stitch fabric but never on knitting or crochet, could you please give me your opinion on this. Thanks

 This is just my personal opinion, but I wouldn't use it on knitting or crochet.  But I also have to add, I am also a cross stitcher and I wouldn't use it there, either.  As with everything in life, YMMV.
