I don't have the necessary requirements to purchase it from Ravelry or Interweave as it is in American dollars. I am looking for an outlet in Australia so I can use $ and cents. Is there anyone in Australia who can steer me in the right direction.
I am a bit confused about the openwork portion of the Marian Tunic in the Spring 2013 Interweave issue. Specifically, I am not quite understanding how to do the LLI and RLI because they are on a wrong side row (that is, the stitch underneath is a purl bump, not a knitted v). Am I misunderstanding something? How should this be properly done?

I am very excited about this project, so it would be great if someone could help me so I can get going soon!

"1-cord CO; CO 3 sts. Row 1 K1f&b, k2, do not turn; sl 3 sts to left needle -- 1st inc'd. Rep Row 1, adding 1 st to right needle every row, until there are 4 fewer sts on right needle than total required number of CO sts. Next row K1f&b, k2 -- 1 st inc'd"

Can I find a place to explain this a bit? thank you

Interweave Knits Winter 2011 poor picture quality

Has anyone else got this beef? I just got the newest issue and the first 4 patterns in the "Knit Bespoke" section seem like the pictures have been photographed through a dirty lens. They are so fuzzy, the details are lost. They appear to be nice patterns but I'll have to read the patterns through before I make up my mind. The ads have better photo quality to them. Also, don't photograph a dark coloured article in front of a dark background. Like Fauna pullover or bobble and eyelet cowl . Difficult to see, unless you're in front of a window.

Or is it the poor paper quality? The paper in this magazine is starting to resemble tissue. I guess its their way to force us all to buy ebooks or get our subscriptions by email. And I paid 7.99 Can. for it.

This used to be the best knitting mag on the market, but now I like the British ones better. The styles are better and patterns are more errorfree. Before I even try a pattern, I have to go on Ravelry and see if anyone has had problems with it. Or to the IK Corrections page.

Spring 2012 Lace Blouse

I am new to using crochet thread so I had a hard time finding a source for the Anchor "Pellicano" cotton thread used in this pattern. Come to find out it is a UK/US translation issue. Here is the link I found by the author regarding the source: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lace-blouse-2

Thanks,

I've just finished the Lower Body Chart (Row 31). The next section is: "Shape Waist". It says to "Break yarn. Slip 22 stitches from R needle to L needle to arrive at L side maker. Rejoin yarn.

So I have been knitting this as a "flat piece" on circular needles (knitting back and forth rather than "in the round").

I'm presuming that the "Shape Waist" instructions are intended to have the knitter begin to knit "in the round" in order to knit the Waist chart section.

Several questions:

1. Is one slipping stiches from R to L with the RS facing the knitter or the WS facing the knitter (i.e. is the "outside" of the round the RS or WS)?

2. Why does it say to "break the yarn" and then "rejoin the yarn"? This doesn't seem necessary to begin knitting this "in the round". . .

3. re: the "arrive at L side marker": I don't understand what this means.

I know that the point is to join the 2 front sections together, but the instructions are confusing.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've been a member of Knitting Daily for a while, but this is the first time I've used the forums.

Anyway, in the latest issue of Interweave Knits, specifically the Spring/April issue, I'm totally in love with most of the pattern swatches from the article "Swatching the Lace Universe" by Deborah Newton. But I've noticed that there are no patterns listed for any of the swatches.

I don't know whether these are open source patterns that one could find in any pattern book on lace, or if these are copyrighted by Newton, but I'd dearly love to have the patterns to some if not all of these.

Could anyone more experienced with patterns possibly tell me what each stitch pattern is called so that I could look it up myself, or tell me where I could find a source to purchase them from? I'm guessing that if Newton designed the patterns herself, they're available to purchase somewhere, through a book or possibly online as individual patterns.

Any help on this matter would be most appreciated. The ones I'm most interested in are Swatch A on page 22, Swatches C and D on page 23, as well as number 2, also on page 23, and H, I, and J on page 24.

Thanks in advance, everyone!
