Has anyone knit it? Do you know what weight of yarn is used? 12 oz. of lace weight yarn would be 4,800 yards! YIKES!

I already think it will be an adventure to figure out the inc's, much less everything else... I'd like to build on someone else's experiences...

Thanks,

I actually found myself giving it some thought.

So I decided to do a little snooping around myself and my research "revealed" something interesting about Agatha Christie. The concensus is, that in five of her stories, Agatha purposely allows the killer character to escape justice by not being brought to justice in the legal sense but instead die, allowing for a more sympathetic outcome. 1

I can picture her sitting quietly in her corner, working on in secret. At the very end she reveals what's on her needles. What else but a pair of knitted handcuffs! I think she would have chosen to do them in very sturdy, very scratchy yarn. Just goes to show, every yarn has a purpose. chuckle, chuckle

1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agatha_Christie

Love the latest issue on literary needlework!

I love the articles featuring projects the characters in Jane Austen's novels would have worked on, Miss Marple's shawl, and yes, the work of Colleen McCullough's Ladies of Missalonghi (that is one of my favorites!). I intend to get a second copy for a very literary friend of mine. I know he will appreciate it as well!

Big fan here

I so totally love this magazine!
Just got my latest issue of Piecework on Monday + once again I'm all smiles!!!

I'm always amazed @ how much info/ articles/ patterns/ etc are packed into what seems like such a thin magazine. Once you open it...it just seems to expand.

The baby soaker pattern to knit in this issue almost makes me wish I had a baby again in my life. Oh well, I'll just have to look around for one that wears cloth diapers to try out the pattern. The model in the pics certainly seems happy to wear them!!!

While the only hats I make are gifts or to sell, the one here made w/ quivet/ merino/ silk yarn is tempting even me to try wearing one for a change. Even the color is beautiful !!!

The articles are always interesting even when it's about a technique I don't do. Though there is a very nice mix in this magazine. Have also seen nice web-only stuff online on the Piecework site. And really beautiful photography.

I've renewed recently for 2 yrs...very happy w/ this magazine!!!

       Andrea
