I had made doilies with letters and names in it. I am so green at crocheting, relearning after 30 years (being taught as a child). I have a hard time following a pattern, but searched for a pattern using colors, but needing to hide one color for each crochet. I used the same type of pattern I saw today from show number 503. The cool thing about crocheting this way is to personize. So Scarfs and/or afgans or what ever you choose can have the person's name on it or a variety of other ideas. I didn't take a picture of it, but can guarantee yours will look great. Just for those who may be interested, this scarf was two lines, two different size print. On the top it said, "I AM DEAF" and below it (to fit) said, "hear me speak". Right now I am working on crocheting a bag made from plastic sacks you get at stores.
