About a week or two ago.. I've made a scarf with just the knit stitch and wanted to find something a little more challenging. I downloaded the free E-Book for Men's knitting (Because I promised my boyfriend I would make him a scarf..) and I've tried to do the Basketweaving scarf.. It seems that I'm doing SOMETHING wrong because my knitting gets all bunched up in the middle. I've started and restarted countless times, and I just can't figure it out! Can anyone help me with this??

Here's how you upload photos:

1. Click on the little green filmstrip icon (near the yellow smily-face icon) above the text area. This will bring up a box labeled "Insert Media." There are three tabs on top; stay on the "From Computer" tab (unless you're uploading a photo from a website or something).

2. Click the "browse" button on the right side of the box. Choose your photo file from your computer and double click on it.

3. Click the "insert" button and, like magic, your photo will appear.

Questions? Please reply to this post.

Seems like I am not getting all of them, but have enough to understand the "problem areas " for the first 33 rows.

I just has to search out what " backward loop method " meant. I was surprised to see I knew the method, did no know the name of it.

Guess I am doing it with a keyhole, so when I get to that "joining in the round" point i will be asking more questions. I am at the second set of increases, about to start row 21.

I will do a "try on" after the 2nd set of ruching, not sure if I want the 3rd set , depends where it will land on me.

Thaks for all the App info, I really am new to all that info. Will check it out, i guess at row 33.

And the winner is....

The
Caftan Pullover by Norah Gaughan!

Clink on the link above (or on the photo) to get
the pattern from the pattern store (or dig out your issue of
Interweave Knits Spring 2006!).

Here's the schedule:

September
20-September 27: Get pattern, choose yarn, work on gauge swatch.

September
27-October 11: Knit back

October 12-November 2: Knit front

November
3 to December 1: Knit sleeves

December 2 to December 16:
Finishing and blocking

December 16 and beyond: Post photos on the
forum and wear your caftan to as many holiday events as you can!

I'm going to be using Sublime Merino Silk Aran in the color Fennel. I
think the smoothness of this yarn will show the detail really well.

There's
no errata for this pattern, so we're all set to go!

Please post all of your comments about this this knit-along as a reply to this post so we have all of the comments in one place.
