Yggdrasil afghan

I am a sort of experienced knitter. However, I need clarification on how to start this fabulous piece. Am I reading the pattern right by understanding that the "m" on the second row is a " place marker" on needle? I am sure I will need some guidance with this pattern, and will ask as I go.

The winner is the Pan-Am Jacket. Yippee; it's my favorite, too.

Here's the schedule:

6/15–6/29: Download pattern (or find it in your copy of Interweave Knits, Winter 2011), choose yarn, swatch.
6/30–8/25: Knit body.
8/26–9/23: Knit sleeves.
9/2–10-1: Finishing.

We have enlarged charts and the shaping correction here, plus more photos of the jacket.

Here's how a knit-along works:

Hai, I'm eria. i try to learn knitting entrelac with pattern. but it came curly. i had tried to knit entrelac with mutliply 5 without pattern it came good. i want to ask, where is the mistake? i already try knit it loose and tight, but it came same. Thank you.

I am just now getting started on my tee. I am at my third ruche I had several pair of socks to finish before I could start this project. It is t first large project I have done in a couple of year. I will be ready for pictures and post the yarn brand in a few days. I am having great fun. Everyone's pictures look great. I especially like the longesleeves.

Bryn Mawr Skirt

i just started knitting the Bryn Mawr Skirt and I am confused with the increase instructions. It states to repeat the increase every 8th run. the cable panel front and back consist of 6 rows.

Do I need to complete the cable panel 8 times and then increase?

The Bella is so beautiful and unique—I can't wait to get started.

First off, we have a yarn issue. The yarns that the Bella was designed for are discontinued, so I did a search and found a few alternates, listed below. Both of the original yarns are worsted weight, knitted at 5 stitches per inch, so their are tons of options. My suggestions are summery yarns, with a little shine in the contrasting edging options.

I started making the tee for myself and enjoyed it so much that I had to make one for a grandchild as well.

I used "Mayflower Soft" 60% cotton 40% ackryl, nice to wear, easy to wash.

I finally figured out how to post a photo. The problem was that my file was too large.

I just recently started knitting.. About a week or two ago.. I've made a scarf with just the knit stitch and wanted to find something a little more challenging. I downloaded the free E-Book for Men's knitting (Because I promised my boyfriend I would make him a scarf..) and I've tried to do the Basketweaving scarf.. It seems that I'm doing SOMETHING wrong because my knitting gets all bunched up in the middle. I've started and restarted countless times, and I just can't figure it out! Can anyone help me with this??

Hi KALers!

Here's how you upload photos:

1. Click on the little green filmstrip icon (near the yellow smily-face icon) above the text area. This will bring up a box labeled "Insert Media." There are three tabs on top; stay on the "From Computer" tab (unless you're uploading a photo from a website or something).

2. Click the "browse" button on the right side of the box. Choose your photo file from your computer and double click on it.

3. Click the "insert" button and, like magic, your photo will appear.

Hi,

This is my first knit-along, and I have been so inspired by everyone's creativity and the beautiful finished results.

Unfortunately I have not been able to finish my own tee and won't be able to get back to it for another month or so. I guess I'll just have to look forward to wearing it at the end of the summer or early fall.

I did try to post a photo of my results so far, but despite following Kathleen's instructions, I was unsuccessful. I am using a Mac, if that makes any difference.

Magic Squares, chevron pattern

Hi to all.

I have just signed up in the last hour and can't wait to be inspired by all your ideas.

I do have a question for all of you. Just wondering if anyone has had any success with magic squares with a chevron pattern?

The first row of squares is easy but I am having trouble with the second row and keeping the chevron pattern.

Has anyone tried this pattern?

Is anyone having trouble reaching the gauge? I can get the 20 stitches correctly but I only get 24 rows instead of the required 34 rows with size 6 needles? I am using Knit Picks CotLin DK weight yarn.
