I've been working on the Leif Slipover, Size 35 1/2. I've just finished the Lower Body Chart (Row 31). The next section is: "Shape Waist". It says to "Break yarn. Slip 22 stitches from R needle to L needle to arrive at L side maker. Rejoin yarn.
So I have been knitting this as a "flat piece" on circular needles (knitting back and forth rather than "in the round").
I'm presuming that the "Shape Waist" instructions are intended to have the knitter begin to knit "in the round" in order to knit the Waist chart section.
Several questions:
1. Is one slipping stiches from R to L with the RS facing the knitter or the WS facing the knitter (i.e. is the "outside" of the round the RS or WS)?
2. Why does it say to "break the yarn" and then "rejoin the yarn"? This doesn't seem necessary to begin knitting this "in the round". . .
3. re: the "arrive at L side marker": I don't understand what this means.
I know that the point is to join the 2 front sections together, but the instructions are confusing.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
