I taught myself how to knit socks a few years ago. So far, I haven't done anything very fancy - some ribbing, basket-weave, and similar stitches. I really like striping yarns and variegates. Since I prefer toe up socks, I'll make the Up and Down socks in Patons Kroy stripes, color Bronzed Berry Stripes - a nice combo of reds, coppers, purple and black.
