I am confused doing short rows for a collar in rib stitch. Any hints?

Confused about what?

it is no different than doing short rows in any other pattern stitch.

I prefer the turn and YO method rather than the turn and wrap method.

See if this isn't a simpler and less confusing way of doing short rows.

With ribbing, just remember that you want to maintain the pattern, no matter whether a st is slipped or you turn and work back on your knitting. Good luck with it!
