Hi. I need some help with a project. I recently learned how to knit, and I am knitting a scarf for my sister. The pattern is simple:
Row 1 (RS)- Knit 3, *Purl 3, Knit 3 repeat from * to end.
Row 2- Purl 1, *Knit 1, Purl 1 repeat from * to end.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 to desired length.
Here's my issue: After knitting about 5 inches and looking at the result with right side facing so my cast on tail is on the right, the left edge looks good, but the right edge is loose loops. Is there a way to make the right esge tighter, so it looks more uniform and not as sloppy? I am using the pattern instructions for size 10 (US) needles and weight 4 yarn (I am using Supersaver).
Thanks for your help!!!
Try slipping that first stitch instead of knitting it.
Ok. Do I slip it knitwise or purlwise? Do I still purl it at the end of Row 2?
