Which sock knitting pattern should we knit?

Never done socks before so am choosing the Aran Isle Slippers.  They look easy for a beginner.

Yes, the border socks are handsome, but all the patterns are great. It will be a hard choice. But, I am willing to participant and knit which ever sock the majority decisions. A sock knit-a-long, what a great idea. Thanks,

I like all the socks, but the aran slippers would make a very interesting knit!  And useful too - I could make one for me to start.  Which would take longer, slippers or socks??

I really like them all. Couldn't decide between cable or chevron. Maybe slippers? Or border socks for me? Ended up with chevron as it is something different for me.
