Can anyone help describe this to me?
CO 240 Sts, PM. Join in round with one twist.
I know this means cast on 240 stitches. What is PM?
I understand the concept of join in round with one twist but can't for the life of me figure out how to do the "one twist".
Thanks in advance!
"PM" means place marker. It lets you know where the beginning of the round starts. Usually when you knit in the round you want to make sure when you join the 2 ends of the cast on stitches that you don't twist the stitches such as when knitting socks or a hat or what have you. This pattern wants you to join in the round with one twist of the stitches to make a mobius which is a sort of cowl with a twist.
Hope this helps.
Thank you so much! PM -- duh! Not sure why I blanked out on that.
Thanks for the twisting explanation too!
hi dancingtypist,
just wonder which mobius pattern you are doing? Also if you twist 180 degree you will get a half twist which forms the mobius.
And all the women who were wise of heart spun with their hands, and they kept bringing as yarn the blue thread and the wool dyed reddish purple, the coccus scarlet material and the fine linen. Ex. 35:25
