I'm still kind of new to knitting even though I have been knitting off and on for 8 years... but I'm frustrated that when I knit a row and turn my work, the my first stitch is alway large and loopy. What am I doing wrong? Any and all recommendations welcome. Thank you for your help.
This is a pretty common problem. Sometimes it doesn't matter because the edge will become part of a seam but there are times when you really want a neat edge. You can knit the last stitch of a row more tightly but that's sometimes hard to remember and doesn't work for everyone. Here are two videos that show you a slip stitch edge which gives a neater edge and avoids the loose ends stitches.
