no matter how i read the instruction for the pattern for 4th round, i totally cannot get it at all. pick and knit 1st 4 row below the left needle... you can find this page on the book correction pg 48.....please if anybody can help me to figure it out. thanks.
I don't have the pattern but it sounds like you're knitting a tuck in the fabric. This video shows you how to do that

She only uses the tuck over part of the row but it can be done over as many sts as you like. You may be knitting two sts together as in the video or maybe just adding the stitch from the row below to the current row.
