i love making gloves and have been working on many pairs using the thumb gusset method. I was very excited to read today's piece on palm gusset, but there was one part that i couldn't understand.
it says in the "To knit a palm gusset" :
"until there are 2 fewer than the original number"
What does that mean (i.e., original number of what)?

Does the pattern have you divide your sts before the palm gusset? Sounds like you need to knit to 2 fewer sts than the total number of sts for the palm.
