I am trying to work pattern from straight needles to working 2 circulars in the round. From reading other post that when you work in round it is all knit, i think I need to change patternpattern readsrow 1: knitrow 2: K1 * P3,k1* repeat across row then repeat these two rows until piece measures 51/2 cmshould I change torow 1: knitrow2:k1 *k3,p1* repeat across
Since you don't have to seam you can drop out the initial k1 and decrease the pattern cast on by one stitch. The pattern in the round would be
row 1 knit
row 2 *k3, p1* around
It will give you 3stitch wide columns of stockinette stitch with a single stitch column of garter stitch between.

You would need to change where you place your knits and purls, among some other alterations. Here is a Knitting Daily post on exactly this topic, which I found incredibly helpful.
