Cabling round corners - It's driving me mad!

I am the sort of knitter who can pick up a pattern and usually knit it.

At the moment I am knitting a lovely throw for a friend, but the edge is a bit too lacy for her.

I would like to knit a cable edging but none of the patterns I have found go "round the corner" either by a circular turn or mitered join.

Can anyone help me?  I am going crazy!

I wonder if you could knit some short rows to take the cable around the corner? It would work best on the rows between cable twists.

I've knit separate bands for edging, stitched them to the body of the throw and eased them around the corners and that would work with a cable edge.
