A beginner.  I know K and P and YO, but need help.  Have a pattern that says B/O, Picot, etc. and don't know what they mean.  How do I get the abbreviations for knitting instructions without buying a book?  Isn't there a simple page I can download?  Thanks.

Here are some links to explanations of abbreviations:

http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/knit.html

http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/knitting-glossary (this one has some videos also)

http://www.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/faq-search.cgi?dictionaryOfAbbreviations=1 (this one is from Lion Brand so you might have to log in to view it)

As for downloading - you can also print to pdf (if you have that capability) and save it to your computer.

Hope this helps.  Happy knitting.
