Yes, that is what I am going to do. However, I am not the greatest knitter and after reading the pattern it looks difficult for me. Still am working on the tubular cast on. Good luck!
My name is Karen. I'm a lifelong crocheter and decided to teach myself to knit about a year ago, mostly by watching YouTube videos. I have been knitting obsessively since then, but this is my first large knitting project, my first sweater/jacket, and my first sKAL. I'm so excited I might knit the whole thing up in a month!! lol, but not really.
I casted-on last night and thought I had hit my first roadblock, but I think I've got it figured out for now. I'm looking forward to working through this pattern with all of you!!!
It 's great that you were able to do the cast on! I have tried many times and just cannot get it. Wonder how bad it would look if I used a LNG tail cast on? I am so frustrated.
So sorry that my post came up three times. My iPad sometimes does funny things. I meant "long tail cast on." Thanks everyone!!
Hi Wearablesheep. Do you have the magazine? It has different methods for the tubular cast on. It took me 1/2 an hour to play around with it. I can take pictures of each step of wasteless yarn because words are really difficult to follow and then email it to you.
Ddtheriault, thank you for replying. I do have the magazine but did not try the cast on without waste yarn as I couldn't figure it out. I will try again! Thanks!
Check out this blog by Knitscene editor Amy Palmer. Hope it helps with the tubular cast-on!
Thank you, Kathleen!
I found the perfect yarn in my stash. It will be decadent! Hope to get going soon but have two other projects started.
Finally knitted the provisional CO and I am ready to go ~ I can't wait to see this pattern come to life.
Sea2mae - that's lovely.
As you can see, I went ahead with the waste yarn method and I actually enjoyed pulling out the WY ~ it was kind of meditation for me. Lol! 12/3/13: well, I decided to start over and go down a size after fitt
Sorry for the huge pictures ~ I can't figure out how to reduce them.
Thanks. I went ahead and started my project and am loving it. I made the pan am jacket by Ashley Rao and ahe is a precision architectural engineering genius! (My interpretation) I am sure we will not be disappointed this time either. Happy knitting!
