Hello, I joined this forum to learn all about knitting. I am a long time crochet person, but just learned from friends on another forum and YouTube(!) basic knitting. I hope to absorb some of the experience here to further my knitting skills.
So far, I have made a couple of dishcloths and a few thread and bead amulet bags. I am working on a scarf. I am slow and all I know so far is knit and purl. Oh and cast on bind off. But, I am motivated to learn, cause knitted tops are my goal.
I am so excited to have found this site!
Welcome! If you already know the Big Four (knit, purl. CO, BO) you are well on your way to those knitted tops. A lot of it is just to practice, practice, practice. Just remember that it is okay to have to restart a project if something isn't working out. The best advice I can give my friends who are new to knitting is, "Be patient with yourself and your knitting." We all make mistakes, no matter how long we've been working at this art/craft. Luckily, they are fixable. (At least, 99% of the time.) And I know I learn a lot from the goofs I make, even if it is frustrating when they happen. Lots of luck and have lots of fun.
